The effect of resistance training on health-related quality of life in older adults: Systematic review and meta-analysis

The National Library of Medicine, published the following Journal Article.

The purpose of this study was to use systematic review and meta-analytic techniques to examine the effect of Resistance Training (RT) on Health Related Quality of Life (HRQOL) in older adults.

The meta-analytic evidence presented in this research clearly supports RT as an effective means for improving HRQOL in older adults. The array of specific HRQOL dimensions that RT may improve span both menta and physical HRQOL domains. RT may, however, be particularly effective at improving Mental Health and Blood Pressure in older adults. RT should be a priority intervention for improving HRQOL in older adults and helping to meet our national HRQOL goals.
